VW CROSSBLUE Concept NAIAS 2013

VW CROSSBLUE Concept NAIAS 2013

Today, VW took the wraps of off the CrossBlue SUV Concept at the 2013 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. Though shown with 6 bucket seats, the three row SUV is said to include a middle row bench in the future, allowing for seating up to 7. Sized between a Tiguan and a Touareg, think Ford Explorer size, it promises to be a worthwhile addition to the VW line in the future. While the concept packs a diesel-electric plug-in-hybrid powertrain, one can only speculate as to what drivetrains may be available in a production version, but I would hazard to guess that a turbo four, a VR6, and a member of the the TDI family may all be up for consideration, in addition to a hybrid variant. The interior of the CROSSBLUE is highly configurable, as you can see in the gallery below.
