Volkswagen ID.4 GTX Reveal and ID.5 Preview!

Today, Volkswagen revealed the ID.4 GTX to the world! It looks exactly like one would expect, a sportier rendition of the handsome VW ID.4, a vehicle that just took home World Car of the Year. I have to say, I think that the ID.4 is one of those vehicles that looks better in person. Its not ungainly in photos, just bland. The lines are more distinguished in the metal. Back to today. The Volkswagen ID.4 GTX is the first MEB vehicle from VW to offer dual-motor all-wheel drive. Adding a second electric motor to the front of the ID.4 gives it about 300 horsepower total. The GTX will only come with the larger 77kW usable battery, resulting in a WLTP range of about 300 miles, but will certainly be less on the EPA scale. While we are throwing out numbers, the sporty variant of the ID.4 knocks 2.5 seconds off its 0-60 MPH time, making the run in 6.2 seconds. VW has a history of sandbagging its 0-60 times, so Iā€™m guessing it will feel faster than that. For those interested in the ID.5 sneak peak, it comes on the last few minutes of the event, or you can check out the still shots I grabbed from the video down at the bottom. Enjoy!
