Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer

As many of you know, we here at MyFamilyCar.Org are on a quest to find a "new" vehicle to join our fleet. While we are enticed by the many advanced features offered on todays newest vehicles, we do have a soft spot for the vintage "charms" that are offered by an older vehicle, such as wood grain, and rear facing third rows.  In this vein, we recently spotted a Jeep Wagoneer for sale at one of our local dealers. I have a vision for this vehicle: I would leave the exterior as it is, replace the cracked windshield, and stencil slightly faded MyFamilyCar.Org logos on both sides. In addition, the carpet is rotting, and would need to be replaced as well. But beyond a thorough mechanical freshening, all it needs is a vintage Airstream trailer to pull behind it. It would be the ultimate shabby-chic family camping rig!

If surface oxidation isn't your thing, I am also posting some Heritage images from Jeep, and links to sites that specialize in "brand-new" 22+ year old Jeep Grand Wagoneers. Wagoneer World even offers a third-row seat option!

There is also a Facebook page dedicated to saving the Grand Wagoneer from the scrap heap:
