Stone Mountain Park - My Family Car Road Trip 2013
Monday, we visited Stone Mountain Park in Tucker, GA (just outside Atlanta). I had been as a child, and remembered the mountain, but had not visited the attached park. The park has more than enough to do to keep you busy for a day, we saw about half in my estimation. We did the family pack, which includes four all day adventure passes, four meal vouchers, and four bottomless soft drinks, and purchased two additional passes for our group. The cost for the family four pack is $125 plus tax. In addition to this, there is a $10 charge for parking. The charge for parking is quite common place nowadays, but I still must voice my objections to paying to park in a lot that is only available to those who are attending an already pricey attraction! If you don't purchase the family package, the food and drink are expensive for what you get, service was slow, but the drinks were able to be filled almost everywhere. There are too many activities included with the pass to list here, but you can check them out at their website:
www.stonemountainpark.com, or from their smartphone apps. If you plan to purchase the family pack, you must do so in advance, or from your smartphone in the parking lot, like we did. We had a great time, and definitely feel that it is worth a visit, plan on spending the whole day.
