I Did It, I Finally Reserved a Tesla Cybertruck!
So what took me so long? And why the Cybertruck, rather than it’s competition? Let’s start with what took so long first. I wasn’t blown away by the design the first time I saw it, and I wanted to see what other options might be out there. In the past year, the exterior has grown on me, and I’ve seen more of the interior, which I really dig. Also, our current truck lease is up next summer, so it’s finally time to to look towards a replacement. Since the announcement of the Cybertruck, we’ve gotten more details for the GMC Hummer EV, the Rivian R1T, and the Ford F-150 Lightning. Which leads us to why the Tesla Cybertruck instead of one of those? The Rivian and the Hummer are priced higher than I am capable of spending on a truck. Which really just leaves the F-150 Lightning, which only seats 5. We currently lease a gas truck which only seats 5, and an occasional use 6th seat would have come in handy often enough it’s a must have for us going forward. As much as I love my Chevrolet Bolt (which we will keep), I am anxious to be able to use the Tesla Supercharger net work as well. Not to mention, my 10 year old son thinks the Cybertruck is the coolest vehicle on the planet. When I was 10, I though the Lamborghini Countach was the coolest car ever, and my parents definitely weren’t able to buy one, so in a small way it’s for 10 year old me/him too. In the end I went with the dual motor, and didn’t add self-driving. What are your thoughts? Let me know in the comments, and check out all the pictures and videos I have been showing my wife to get her on board with this decision. Enjoy!
