Saturday Surge - July 4, 2020
Have a happy and safe Fourth of July! Each week, we run across many stories that we’d love to share, but often run out of time to do so. To make sure that you don’t miss out, we round up some of them here for your viewing/reading/listening pleasure on Saturdays.
Surging this week: Today is also the Fiat 500's birthday, originally launched on July 4, 1957. And while that model definitely wasn’t an EV, the next Fiat 500 will be (and also the last one was offered as an EV). In honor of the city car’s birthday, Fiat has launched a virtual museum. Tesla had an impressive Q2, all things considered. Speaking of Tesla, Audi is looking to take on their Performance models with the e-Tron S and e-Tron S Sportback. Lunaz Design offers some very classy (and pricey) classic car EV conversions. If you didn’t spec your Tesla Model Y with a hitch when you ordered it, but wish you had, now you can. Electrek’s Seth Weintraub weighs in on his Chevrolet Bolt after 3 years of ownership. Porsche reveals a China only Taycan. And finally, MotorTrend makes a guess at the future of the Ford F-150 EV. Enjoy!
