Chicago 2020 - Porsche
The Porsche Taycan was one of two cars that I was super excited to see in person for the first time. The other being the Ford Mustang Mach E. Unlike the Ford, Porsche had the Taycan Turbo S on display open for press viewing. First thought, the brake disks are MASSIVE, and it hasn’t lost any of its appeal in transition from Mission E concept to Taycan production car, especially wear the rims shown. Not only did I get to see it, and play with with cool way to open the charge port, but I got to sit in it front and back. The front is very comfortable, and cockpit like, very 911-ish. The rear is much larger than any 911. I fit in the back seat just fine at 5’11”; and would happily be driven to dinner back there. Given more time to try it out, I may even agree to road trip in that back seat as well. The fit and finish is top notch, which at this price is no surprise, and the numerous dashboard screens make for a very cool look. In addition to the Taycan Turbo S, Porsche also had a Panamera 4 e-hybrid PHEV on display as well. Both of which were painted white… Dear Porsche, please can I borrow a Taycan for a test drive? In the meantime, here are my photos, enjoy!
