2022 Ford E-Transit Reveal

Yesterday, Ford took the wraps off of the 2022 E-Transit commercial vehicle. Make no mistake, this is a big deal. Electrifying these types of vehicles will reduce emissions much faster that switching all passenger cars to EVs. Big vans like this drive more miles each day than the average consumer-owned vehicle by an order of magnitude. So while it isn’t for the average driver, it is an incredibly important reveal. Watch the presentation below for all of the details, but the highlights are: 266 horsepower (equivalent to the gas powered Transit) and 317 lb-ft of torque (equivalent to the diesel Transit). 126 miles of range (the average gas Transit covers 74 miles) from a 67 kWh battery pack. $45,000 starting price, with a multitude of size and capability options, and an anticipated 40% reduction in running costs. In addition, Ford has added a a whole bunch of safety and connectivity features. This is just the first of many commercial EVs from Ford.
