Three Electric SUVs Towing Campers through Norway
Oh how I would love a chance to hang with the Norwegian EV Association! When it was time for them to test a Mercedes-Benz EQC, did they just take it to dinner and then try and run it out of juice? No, they decided it would be best to locate an Audi e-tron, a Tesla Model X, and three identical campers, and go on holiday! Utterly brilliant idea!! The campers weigh in at roughly 3,000 pounds, which is very exciting for me, as I have a camper that is about 500 pounds heavier, still within the towing capacity of all three of these vehicles. The video below gives you a snapshot of the trip, but please read the article linked just above it as well. The article is in English, but I am guessing it was run through Google Translate, so read forgivingly. The Norwegian EV Association considers all three vehicles winners as they were all able to complete the adventure with ease. But if you need participation trophies, then it worked out like this: the Tesla Model X had the longest range, the Mercedes-Benz EQC was most comfortable, and the Audi e-tron was the fastest to charge on the route they took. With the campers attached they estimate a comfortable range of 120 miles between chargers for the Germans, and 150 miles between supercharger stops for the Tesla. Enjoy!
