Hemmings - Two Rauch and Lang Electrics Going to Auction
Rauch and Lang started as a carriage building company, attracting the attention of Andrew Carnegie and John D. Rockefeller, who became two of their investors. After a brief stint as a dealer for Buffalo Electric Automobiles, they began to produce their own electric vehicles. They utilized driveline components from the Hertner Electric Company, which they later absorbed. In 1915, Rauch and Lang merged with the Baker Motor Vehicles, to become Baker, Rauch and Lang.
Hemmings has listings for two Rauch and Lang automobiles, both of which will be auctioned off in RM Sotheby’s October event in Hershey, PA. We have already featured a few EVs from this upcoming auction, and it is shaping up to be quite the event for the antique electric car enthusiast. The first is a 1909 Coupe.
The second is a 1916 Rauch & Lang JX6 Coupe.
