Isle of Man TT Zero - 2019 - Race Preview
This year marks the 10th anniversary of electric motorcycles tackling one of the most dangerous races in the world, the Isle of Man Tourist Trophy. It is the 100th running of the regular race, which started in 1907, but was not held at times of war. One lap of the course is 37.73 miles. Michael Rutter holds the current TT Zero lap record on last year’s Mugen Shinden race bike. The current record is: 18:34.956 which equates to an average speed of 121.824 mph. A few years back, Mark Neale put together an excellent behind the scenes documentary called “Charge”, you can check out the trailer for that below.
This year’s TT Zero race takes place on Wednesday, June 5 at 12:45pm local time. They are 5 hours ahead of Eastern Standard Time, in case you were wondering. I am including photos of the Mugen (Honda) Shinden 8, and hopefully, we will be able to find video of the race afterwards for your viewing enjoyment!
