ABT e-Transporter - Geneva 2019

Press days for this year’s Geneva Motor Show start two weeks from today. ABT was unable to wait though, and have revealed their tuned e-Transporter Concept early. Also a good way to stay ahead of the deluge of reveals scheduled for March 5 and 6.

The Geneva ABT e-Transporter Concept is based on their commercial e-line conversion, it adds more style than performance. Its electric motor pumps out 111 hp, and around 150 lb/ft of torque. The standard 37.3 kWh battery will allow for a range of up to 129 miles per charge, while future plans include a larger 74.6 kWh battery allowing for up to 248 miles between charges. Both estimates are figured on the more forgiving European scale. Now for the bad news. As VW has not seen fit to design a van for sale in the US for several years, there is zero chance of seeing one of these on the road here in Michigan. We will just have to wait for the production version of the VW I.D. Buzz concept to land in a few years time. In the meantime, enjoy the photos below, and feel free to visit ABT’s e-Line site, be warned, its in German.
