Geneva 2019 - Mercedes-Benz Concept EQV
Hot on the heals of the update of the Vito/Metris line of Mercedes Vans, we have been presented with the Concept EQV all-electric van. They are targeting a range approximately 250 miles on the generous European scale, and the ability to rapidly recharge. Unlike many concepts, the EQV isn’t a wait and see proposition. It is headed for sale, as the production EQV will be revealed in Frankfort, Germany this September at the IAA.
Press Release:
The Concept EQV – close-to-production insight into the all-electric people mover
Another first on the world stage is the Concept EQV – the world’s first people mover in the premium segment with battery-electric drive. The close-to-production concept pairs local zero-emissions mobility with impressive performance, maximum functionality and aesthetic design. The technical highlights include a range of up to 400 kilometres and rapid charging for a range of up to 100 kilometres in just 15 minutes.
The vehicle also offers the highest levels of interior comfort and maximum functionality, through features such as its versatile seating configurations. By installing individual seats or banks of seats, the six-seat concept vehicle can be reconfigured to offer seven or even eight seats. This means the Concept EQV can cover a wide range of uses. In private use, families or those who enjoy sporting activities benefit from the high degree of functionality and variability. In up-market people moving, the vehicle offers a compelling range of equipment and appointments as well as an extremely comfortable ride.
The study provides a clear insight into the near future. Mercedes-Benz will unveil a production vehicle based on the Concept EQV at the Frankfurt International Motor Show.
“Families will also enjoy travelling without emissions – but they certainly want to keep all of the features they appreciate in a Mercedes, like comfort, functionality, design, safety and quality. These characteristics are very much part of the all-electric Concept EQV,” says Dieter Zetsche.
