VW I.D. R Tianmen Mountain Onboard Footage

99 hairpin corners, 6.78 miles, and speeds in excess of 136 MPH. About 6 weeks later, Volkswagen Motorsport has released the onboard footage of Romain Dumas epic run up the Tianmen Mountain Shan Big Gate Road. As this was the first record attempt, the Volkswagen I.D. R racer was always going to be the fastest, it was just a matter of how fast. I was surprised by how bumpy the road looks from the onboard, Romain has proven himself to be one with the I.D. R on multiple occasions, and the bumps didn’t seem to slow him down at all. Enjoy!
