Apr 3 Step2 Corvette® Bedroom Combo™ - Product Review

My little guy is growing up! Shocking, I know. Alas, it is time to transition him into his big boy room so as to make room for our little bundle of joy on the way. What better way to celebrate a new bedroom than by making it look cooler than Dad's garage!! In this vein, we recently purchased the Step2 Corvette® Bedroom Combo™. Unfortunately, due to availability, it wasn't as simple as ordering from the link below. The bed and the toy box were ordered through Toys-R-Us, and the dresser and storage bins came through Amazon. Fair warning, the box for the bed is enormous, and wouldn't fit in our Chrysler Town & Country. It is strictly a pick-up truck or full-size van sized box only. Luckily, the folks at our local store were aware of this, and were happy to help unbox it so that I could bring it home in my minivan. As a bonus, they recycled the cardboard for me, so that I didn't have to cut it up and fill my recycle bin for the next month. The rest of the pieces came via delivery, right to my front door.

On to the product: all of the pieces seem very well made, and were easy to assemble with basic hand tools. The directions for the bed suggest that it is a 2 person job, but I was able to manage on my own. The finished product is very sturdy, so much so that I was able to nap with my son in the bed the first time with no concerns. Part of the appeal of the bed for me was the attention to detail, it is very realistic looking, but as such involved attaching a ton of stickers. In total for the four pieces of furniture, there are 76 stickers to be attached, and a few spares if you mess up. The headlights on the bed light up via 4 AAA batteries, and have a built in timer that turns them off after 15 minutes. Overall, I am very happy with the finished product, and he loves his new bedroom. Now if only he were as excited to potty train...
