Jonny Smith Drives an Electric Land Rover

Some of my favorite things in the world of EVs are, in no particular order: the show Vintage Voltage; Jonny Smith videos; classic cars converted to EVs; road trips; and electric cars breaking into new categories. This video is the culmination of all those things into one. Jonny Smith, whom we’ve featured here before, drives a Land Rover Defender that’s been converted by the team at Electric Classic Cars (as seen on Vintage Voltage on the Motor Trend Network) from Wales to London. The Defender in question was commissioned by the Selfridges department store and is a 2015 model that was originally sold with a diesel engine. It now features the motor and battery out of a Tesla Model S, and is much quicker than when it left the factory.
