Race Recap: Wehrlein Seizes Victory in a Penalty-Packed Showdown

Pascal Wehrlein of TAG Heuer Porsche showcased masterful driving, clinching victory after a series of dramatic events unfolded on the Homestead-Miami Speedway. Originally, Norman Nato crossed the finish line first, but a 10-second penalty for not completing the required Attack Mode duration dropped him to sixth place .​

Wehrlein's win was his first of the season, adding a significant 25 points to his championship tally. Lucas di Grassi of Lola Yamaha ABT secured second place, finishing 5.619 seconds behind Wehrlein, while António Félix da Costa, also from Porsche, completed the podium .​

The race was not without its controversies. Multiple drivers, including Robin Frijns, Oliver Rowland, and Sam Bird, received 10-second penalties for not completing their Attack Mode activations. Nick Cassidy was penalized five seconds for exceeding track limits, and Zane Maloney received a five-second penalty for not coming to a complete stop after cutting the T10-11 chicane .​

Championship Standings Update

Despite finishing 11th in Miami, Oliver Rowland of Nissan e.dams maintains his lead in the Drivers' Championship with 69 points. However, his lead has narrowed, with António Félix da Costa now just 14 points behind.​
