Rivian Announces R2, R3 and R3X SUVs!

This past Thursday, Rivian founder and CEO RJ Scaringe announced not just the well-teased (and scooped) R2 suv, but a trio of electric adventure vehicles! The R3 and R3X were a complete surprise, and made for one heck of a “one more thing”. The R2 is a very compelling package. Starting at $45,000 USD. Seating for 5. Three motor options (single, dual, or trio-motor). A promised range of 300 miles or more for all three motor options. 0-60 mph in 3 seconds for the tri-motor R2. It is a good-looking vehicle, with a well thought out interior. You can reserve one now with just $100 for delivery in the first half of 2026. As of yesterday, 68,000 people have done just that. I thought that I was going to be one of them, until I saw the R3X. As much as I like the R2, the rally-car vibe of the R3X makes me want one in my driveway.
