Chevrolet Bolt Recall Roundup - September 16, 2021
Here is a snapshot of articles on the newest developments in the Chevrolet Bolt battery recall saga. We start with a report from Reuters that the shutdown on the Bolt production line has been extended into the middle of next month, which makes sense as GM still doesn’t trust that LG can provide them with batteries that are defect free. General Motors has asked that some Chevy Bolt owners park 50 feet away from other vehicles. Another fire has been reported, this time in Georgia. I appreciate that they are working around the clock to resolve the issue, I really do, but I hope that they are able to find a resolution soon and get these cars fixed quickly when they finally do. I am very thankful that despite a dozen occurrences of fires, no one has been injured. I would also like to add that this does NOT diminish my love of EVs, or my belief that they are the future.
