Chevrolet Previews Electric Silverado 4 Wheel Steering
One of the many great features of electric vehicles is the packaging advantage they offer over ICE powered vehicles. In this case, Chevrolet is taking advantage of the dual motor layout of the upcoming all-electric Silverado pickup truck to offer rear-wheel steering without eating into the cargo space in the bed. At low speeds, the rear wheels turn opposite the fronts to decrease a vehicles turning circle, allowing for better maneuverability in parking garages, and the like. At higher speeds, the rear wheels turn in the same direction as the fronts for greater stability when passing on the highway, etc. I am just so excited for the future of pickup trucks in the electric age!
