Rivian is Gearing Up for Production and Towing!
Rivian released two videos this week. The first (chronologically, second here) shows the team in Illinois assembling some pre-production prototype R1Ts as they get ready for series production. The other video is a behind the scenes peak as the R1T’s towing capacity is tested and verified. And how much is that? 11,000 pounds. When towing a trailer that heavy, expect range to be cut in half, hich is also true of my wife’s pickup when towing our camper. I can't wait to trade her gas-guzzler in on an EV! In the meantime, enjoy the pics and videos below.
“Last month, R1T validation continued with hot weather towing exercise, which included the SAE’s Davis Dam certification site and runs through Death Valley. Towing 11,000 lbs up high grades at 118º F demonstrates the capability and robustness of the R1T. Check out our latest blog post for all the details. stories.rivian.com/hot-weather-towing”
