Oct 20 GMC Hummer EV Reveal and Photo Gallery

What did you think? I have to say, I am impressed. It looks like GM may have a hit on their hands. Directly following the videos premiere, GMC began taking reservations, for just $100 you can put your name in line. It must have been pretty well received, as of 10:30 PM (2.5 hours after the reveal) reservations for the Edition 1 are full. The Edition 1 version of the GMC Hummer EV is the one that all the teasers have been hinting at. Crab Mode, three motors, 0-60 MPH in 3 seconds, 11,500 lbs-ft of torque, more than 350 miles of range. That’s the version that goes into production next fall, and starts at $112,595. A year after that, fall 2022, the EV3X trim goes into production starting at $99,995. Six months later, Spring 2023, we should get the EV2X, with a starting price of $89,995. And finally, a year from then, Spring 2024, will see the base model, EV2, arrive starting at $79,995. As you may have guessed by the naming conventions, the EV2 and EV2X are dual motor variants, and the EV3X gets the tri-motor layout of the Edition 1. According to the press release, all trims will includes Super Cruise capability with three years of service, the trick UltraVision camera system, Digital Key, 35-inch-OD tires, the removable Infinity Roof, power rear drop glass, and General Motor’s MultiPro Tailgate. I look forward to finding out more about the Hummer EV truck, and it’s eventual SUV sibling that has been teased, but wasn’t shown tonight.
