Frankfurt IAA 2019 - Opel Elektro GT from 1971

Opel pulled an old engineering mule out of storage to help showcase their history of electric cars for the 2019 edition of the Frankfurt IAA. Built in 1971 as a means of building awareness for EVs by setting a track record, the Opel Elektro GT featured 118 horsepower, and a range of just over 27 miles. It doesn't sound like the record they were hoping for was broken, but it did result in a slinky, aerodynamic, small electric sports car. I’d love to take it for a spin, no matter how brief.
