LA 2019 - Audi e-Tron Sportback
To sell SUVs in this time, you apparently need to have a traditionally shaped vehicle, as well as a mechanically identical vehicle with significantly less practicality in the name of a coupe-ish roof line. And so it is with Audi e-Tron. If you were put off by the usefulness of the standard vehicle, soon you can get one that has less headroom, and less storage behind the rear seat. Perhaps this is proof that the electric SUV has become mainstream? Stats sound pretty identical to the e-Tron on sale already. The big advantage would appear to be that the Sportback slices through the air a little easier. The standard e-Tron has a WLTP range rating of 248 miles, which works out to 204 miles on the more conservative EPA rating. The Sportback has an estimated WLTP range of 277 miles. If my math is correct, that should work out to about 227 miles on the EPA scale for the Sportback. Maybe the small rear storage is worth 23 miles of added range. Also, I recently learned that the standard e-Tron is capable of towing up to 4,000 lbs.
