NAIAS 2019 - KIA

Although the big news on the KIA stand was the debut of the Telluride SUV, I was more than pleasantly surprised to see the all-new KIA Soul EV and Niro EV. The Soul is hot off it’s unveiling at last November’s LA Auto Show. KIA isn’t quoting range numbers just yet, but both the Soul and Niro EVs utilize the same 64KWh battery pack as the Hyundai Kona EV. That pack is good for 239 miles per the EPA in the Niro, and 258 miles in the Kona. I would guess the new Soul will fall somewhere in between, as it is smaller than the Niro, but not as aerodynamic as the Kona. I’ve really been on a Fully-Charged kick lately, so I am attaching videos of them with both electric KIAs. Now if only I could convince KIA to sell either of them here, I’d seriously consider them over the Chevrolet Bolt EV. Same hope for the Hyundai Kona EV as well. Enjoy!
