Studebaker Avanti EV

Today is my father's 67th birthday, and his favorite car in the entire world is the Studebaker Avanti. So in honor of this momentous occasion, I have searched for a link between our beloved EVs, and the Studebaker Avanti, and found it back in 1997. The Ethan Hawke film Gattaca was set in a future where all vehicles were powered by electricity. They also all happened to already be classic cars back in 1997. The Studebaker Avanti wasn't the star car of the film, but made several appearances throughout it. I am assuming that the "conversion" of the Avanti for the film was limited to overdubbing the engine noise with the sweet futuristic sounds of electric vacuum cleaner motors. Nonetheless, Dad loves the Avanti, and we love him, so "Happy Birthday Dad!"
