Our journey is complete, and can I just say, whew! Everyone had a great time, and our nerves about the distance traveled were for nought, we all survived. On our trip I remembered how much fun I had as a kid, getting loaded up into Mom and Dad's car and being dragged cross-country. For me, driving is infinitely more enjoyable than flying. As for Family Car One, our 2010 Chrysler Town & Country LX minivan, I think he had a good time too. If you're into stats, we covered 2,035 miles, and averaged 21.4 mpg for the entire trip. Our adventure on the Tail of the Dragon took our average mpg all the way down to 17.2, if not for that bit of very spirited driving, I think we would have been close to the EPA's highway rating of 24 mpg for the entire trip. But, given a second chance, I'd do it again!!
