1967 Ford Country Squire - Hemmings

The Ford Country Squire wagon is one of my favorite cars to use when playing Forza Motorsport on my Xbox. So in honor of that, for throwback Thursday, I went out and found one for sale on Hemmings. How can you go wrong with seating for 9 (possibly without seat belts?) and a thumping 390 cubic inch V8 under the hood? I love the red on red with faux wood sides! Priced at $19,900 and for sale HERE. I've included the sellers description below.

"Description:

Before the minivan came on the scene in 1984, soccer moms had a different way to get the little ones to practice on time. Moms and dads across America drove station wagons, which were, in essence, an extension of sedans with the same performance. These land yachts could carry up to 10 passengers, with plenty of room for all their luggage up on the roof rack. Unfortunately, the demise of the large station wagons began with the "aero" design of the 1990s, with the third row seat niche going to sport utility vehicles. With the prices of many of the sportier collector cars out of reach for the average enthusiast, station wagons make a great alternative. Older station wagons offer comfort, carrying capacity and safety, with prices traditionally hovering at around half of a comparable sedan. If performance is a priority, keep in mind that, While buyer's guide do not focus on Cobra Jet-powered station wagons, it does spotlight the very popular Ford Country Squire wagon with a 390-cu.in. V-8 as seen here. The Country Squire was the top trim level available, paralleling the Galaxie 500 and LTD series of passenger cars. In 1966, Ford pioneered the "Magic Door" gate, which allowed the tailgate to function either as a traditional one that could be lowered flat or a door that swung outward for easier access. This 1967 Ford Country Squire wagon is I very user friendly Condition. The is exterior nice but not perfect, the interior could some fleshing up. It's drivetrain seems to be sold and makes a fine running automobile the seats are very comfortable and fits up to 9 passengers. The vehicle is nicely equipped with not only power accessories but some enticing cosmetics accessories including roof rack and wheel covers. The vehicle is powered by a 275hp 390 v8 and matted to a automatic transmission, includes Air Conditioning, power windows/ power rear window, power steering, power brakes, working AM radio. Standard bench seats with fold down rear seat. The values of big block station wagons have greatly increased in recent years and now we are starting to see quite the following from enthusiasts and collectors. Mom wants want to enjoy a day with the Family, Father always wants performance and style, thus weekend hobbyists choose Wagon buyers choose to get them there with ample room and 390 V8 Power"
