Blue Indy
Indianapolis is about 4 hours from my house, and is a place that we sometimes visit, but not as frequently as we would like between jobs, and kids, etc. I was there a little more than a year ago and snapped some pictures of Blue Indy’s Bollore Bluecars. The cars themselves were designed by Pininfarina of Battista and Ferrari fame, and built in Italy. There were approximately 200 vehicles with a range of about 120 miles. I had been waiting to post the pictures i’d taken until I could go back and take one of them for a spin. As we reported a few days ago in the Saturday Surge, that is no longer possible, as the program has been terminated. In researching this arcticle, we discovered that the landing page for https://www.blue-indy.com shows the message below. Beneath that, please find my pictures, as well as a news video from one of the Indianapolis stations on the closure, and a piece by MotorWeek back from the start of Indiana’s EV car-sharing experiment. Enjoy!
